Laser tattoo removal works by delivering very short pulses of energy into the tattoo pigment. The laser breaks the pigment into much smaller particles, which your body can then gradually clear via your lymphatic system.

Our Lumeria Q-Switched Nd:YAG uses 1064nm and 532nm wavelengths, allowing us to target different types of tattoo pigment. 

1064nm

Laser isn't perfect for every pigment.

Some yellow, green, turquoise, pale, white and cosmetic pigments can be more difficult to treat with a 1064/532nm Nd:YAG system. Some cosmetic pigments containing ingredients such as iron oxides or titanium dioxide can also undergo colour changes following laser treatment, including paradoxical darkening. This is why we assess PMU pigments particularly carefully before deciding on laser treatment. 

This is where having other removal options becomes really useful.
